Bench Mark knifes
I've got a couple of older knifes that my dad gave me. I believe he bought them in the 70's. He still has a bunch, still in the box unused. Various types.
I don't know much about them, but they feel like qood quality. He may want to sell a few of his some time in the near future, if they are worth much. Mine are not for sale. Are these type knifes collectable? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I really like that Diamond Back. It's pretty. Based on your pictures, it looks like the blade slides forward and then the lock is near your pinky on the bottom. Is that right. Very interesting. I'd not seen a knife like that before.

Not that it's necessarily a pricing source, but on eBay, they seem to have a bunch for sale that look new/modern that are going for peanuts, but then a bunch that look like they might be older in the $100-300 range.

Yes, that's how it works. You push down on the back of the blade and slide it forward to lock. It very solid and smooth in its movement.

Maybe the best thing would be for him to just give these out for gifts if they are only worth a hundred. For $300 it would probably be better for him to sell a few. Im just trying to help him make an informed decision.

Heck, I'd possibly buy one like that diamond back, it's pretty cool. My guess on the new ones is that the company went out of business or was sold and the new owners are making cheap stuff with the old name. It's also possible that they have a cheap, Chinese consumer line and a better line.
