OT: Ohio State Wins National Championship
In what was perhaps the best bowl game ever played, the Ohio State University beat the University of Miami 31-24 in two overtimes to win the BCS National Championship.
Go Bucks!

Miami was the heavy favorite, but since I don't talk to bookies, don't know what the spread was. But I agree..the best bowl game this year was the final one. Very enjoyable! Oh, I wonder how many Porsches were in the parking lot? (Think that will help this thread stay here?

I was at the OSU-Illinois game with a couple of my buddies (one of them a Porsche owner, there! P-content), and it was almost the same thing. Illinois came back to take it into over time, and due to a poor call, OSU gets a chance to score. If the call were correct, OSU would have loss. JUst as the interference call on OSU's first TD try..It was a great game, as was this, but I don't think OSU really deserves it, but then Miami made some bad calls and decisions in the last drive. Oh well, go Big Ten (I was routing for Illinois in that other game by the way).
Good football! |

I love it...everytime OSU and Illinois play, My two OSU buddies and I try to make the game, and it's always the same optimistic "Go Buckeyes!" attitude. BUT! More times then not, there is something hanging over the victory that is overlooked by Buckeye fans. Oh well. It's a big Ten school, so Jon....have your fun...it was a good season for you guys, but lets not forget the Illinois game that could have kept you guys from AZ.
Oh I have a Porsche (P-content hehe) |

Well Souk, whine all you want about the OSU -Illinois game. The fact is that the Illini wern't a very good team this year and were lucky to be around at the end of that game.
As far as bad calls I can remenber Chis Gamble being held by the Miami d-back on a 3rd and 8 at the end of regulation and OSU didn't get that call. If Gamble catches the ball maybe the game doesn't go to OT. Every game fetures bad calls and non-calls. It's just poor sportsmanship to say OSU won the game only because of a "bad call". By the way I got a threatning PM from Wayne for posting this in the Tech forum. Guess he's a USC fan.

Hoot! I figured this would be moved. As a "neutral" observer, meaning fan of yet another team in the PAC10, I believe Miami had the better on field talent, hands down. But the kids from Ohio had better coaching, and worked better as a team. It was just one hell of a lot of fun to watch.
