Yup. This is the place. Fantastic hotel. 6th street out your front door.

With all that is going on this weekend, just the one night?

The locals (I am one) say the live music scene is pretty much dead now. I would stay at the W, but that's because I don't want to have anything to do with 6th street. It really is a mess these days.

Shame but I guess all good things must come to an end. last time I was there was Y2K New Year's Eve. Had a blast....but that was a long time ago now!

Yep. This little town grew up really fast, and sixth is basically a mosh pit now. It's sad really.

Austin/Round Rock was the fastest in growth in the US for 2015. Nearly 160 people move here everyday.

SoCo is cool.

Go across the river to Uncle Billy's for BBQ and beer. If you can find it, find "Tommy Want Wingy". Best wings ever, and I lived in upstate New York where they invented Buffalo Wings.

And the traffic is insane. This last Friday I tried to get from Cedar Park to South Austin at 5PM. The fastest route according to GPS Map App was an hour and a half.

Erica: “What's the capital of Texas?”

Col. Tanner: “Austin.”

Erica: “Wrong, commie. It's Houston.”

cracks me up.

Moonshine is pretty good as well by the convention center.

It is insane. If it was 5pm on Friday, and I had to drive the aforementioned, I would seriously consider going through Marble Falls.
