I Am Officially Out of Touch

So, I have Sat Radio and was listening to old Howard Stern shows has I did my truck runs.

James Corden was on. I had never heard of him (Late, Late Show host) and Stern asked him about Carpool Karaoke, which I had never heard of. They talked about the Adele episode.

I have heard of Adele but had never heard a single note of any song of hers I could pull before I watched the video.

So, I get home and DuckDuck a bit. What a talent.

I am now up to the 2015's:)

I got on the Adele bandwagon a few years ago.

As for Carpool Karaoke, it's a good time sink.

She sang the opening song for the James Bond movie Skyfall.

I have heard her other stuff, but IMO she sings a little flat.

You only think you've never heard Adele.

You just did not know it was her.

About the only way you could have escaped it is if you've been in a coma living under a rock in a cave in Antartica for the last few years.

What he said ^. I think (not positive) that she was discovered on the UK version of one of the talent shows many years back, and it skyrocketed her to mega-stardom. She's hugely popular and everywhere. It would be surprising if you'd never heard any of her music, but it's possible.

I've heard of her too...I'm as certain as a PARF opinion that I've never heard her though :).

No coma, no cave, no Adele....I'm so out of touch that I can't even feel myself :)

And ya know what....I like it that way!

Adele is a massive talent. One of very few performers that can move me to tears.

There are some other good carpool karaoke's too. The Red Hot Chile Peppers one was good.

+1 one of the best. Elton John is another one.

I think Elton's voice has not held up, he should stick to piano, and, I wouldn't know an Adele song, period.

This is a good one....

And Reggie Watts, JC's bandleader was in a group Maktub out of Seattle back in the 90's. Always liked them, never got to see them live....

I started with songs from 21: Turning Tables; Someone Like You. The faster tempo ones, I'm not as fond of: Rolling in the Deep; Set Fire to the Rain, Rumour Has It. She also covered a The Cure song, Lovesong.

Then there's Hello, When We Were Young - reminds me of Karen Carpenter in some spots; and All I Ask.

My 11-year old daughter pointed me to her cover of Make You Feel My Love, originally sung by Billy Joel, and written by Bob Dylan.

Michelle Obama - All the Single Ladies.

From some of her interviews and concert video clips (have not personally been) she appears to have a great sense of humor and wit. Not shy to swear or say what she thinks.

Lots of good songs, tough for me to pick a standout but this is one I always the volume up for

Cripes. Missed your comment, Bill. I posted the same thing. She was pretty lively in her rendition of the Beyonce single.
