''My Mother was late... ONCE.''

My most recent ex was the worst ever...never ever even close to being on time. We missed so many curtains and movie starts that I stopped taking her out.

Yep. The folks that are always late think they are more important than anyone else. The world should revolve around them and in their twisted mind, it does.

In 25 years of marriage I have learned only a few things:

One is that as soon as you start talking about taking separate cars so that she can "take her time getting ready", all the sudden-like it doesn't take her as long to get ready.

And yes, she does know that I would let her driver herself (late).

Actually, we do exactly that (drive separate cars, to the same event at the same location)

Saves a lot of grief and both sides.

I didn't think Rock Stars had to put up with crap like us regular guys ;)

19 years of marriage here. I have no explanation. I doubt that would change if we were married 1900 years.

I have a dingbat cousin who is habitually late. We make it sport during family gatherings to intentionally lie to her to get her early. She gets pissed.

Oh well.

When I was 20 it was a point of pride that I was punctual. After a few times of sitting in a MD's office cooling my heels for a half hour I started showing up 45 minutes late. So in that I gave up living by the exactitude of the clock.

I guess I am lucky. My wife is organized and on time.
Her older sister however, was late for their father 's funeral.
She had the first reading.

Best

This burns my azz. I will show up 5-10 minutes early for a Drs. appt and sit there in the waiting room for a solid 1/2 hour. Then, I will be escorted back to an exam room where I will sit for another 1/2 hour....by this time, i'm so mad at my wasted/boring time, that I forget why i'm there.

This above scenario has happened at my oncology doctor, family doctor, hospital waiting room, chiropractor, dentist, and optometrist.

I told my docs and dentist that my schedule is tight and important to a lot of people and that I therefore bill by the hour, starting fifteen minutes after my scheduled appointment time. They all chuckled but seem to have gotten the message because, except in the case of a genuine emergency, I've never had to wait more than a few minutes ever since.

I went to see my sleep doc about ten years ago for a sleep study. It was in the middle of winter and really cold namely -30c or about -25f. The doc was late by about 45 minutes and I gave him heck and he responded by saying nothing(which is how I would have handled it if I was him).

In hindsight I would have handled it differently. I would have said "what is your your problem, did you sleep in?":)
