I shot a tree frog yesterday

No, not that kind of shot. I photographed one.
They live in the trees around my house by the hundreds. They start trilling every evening in the summer and on hot nights the racket is deafening. But in 21 years of living here I've only seen three or four. They are tiny - about 3/4 of an inch long - and they look like tree bark. If you identify a tree one is on, he gets quiet if you get within 10 feet.
Yesterday I caught one out in the open and made the most of the opportunity.

Great shots!

I've loved frogs since I was a little kid. My daughter too. Here are a couple I took while on a surf trip to central America.

I think you don't want to touch those colourful ones. :)

Nice pics, all.

The black and green aren't too bad. You wouldn't want to lick one. The red ones are a different story!

I have them around here and see them every once in awhile. This one stood out being in the wrong color tree!

Reminds me of going to a high end restaurant the other night and one of the appetizers was frogs' legs. I have no idea which are the edible ones and which are not(in the wild that is :)).. My father used to tell me they were good when he was a teacher in France. I cannot remember eating them. I enjoy escargots though....

I had a tree frog land on my arm last year. I looked up, and the nearest branch was at least 40 feet up.

I had a pair of American Green Tree Frogs that free roamed the plants inside my home; one lived 3 years the other held on for 4 years. Here is my entry to a St. Patricks Day "Dress your Pet" contest. We got beat by a schnauzer in a sweater.
