$$$ Product Idea - need access to a polyurethane foam lab
Years ago Max Factor produced a foam cosmetic pad 'Max Factor Imported Cosmetic Sponge #117' that was discontinued. Any women that used these swore by them. They stopped making them years ago - not sure why. You can't find anything like them. Every so often they pop on ebay for $75 to $150!
I have seen one; open and irregular pores - make it absorbent, the decent tensile strength would led to improved anti-friability, very flexible, soft to the touch. There is a cult following for these things - there is nothing on the market close to it. I am not sure why it was discontinued. Maybe when P&G bought Max Factor it was rationalized or maybe the foam mfg went out of business? Ask your wives or girl-friends if they have knowledge of such a white whale. |
iirc Elaine Benes has a closet full of those things.
But only for the sponge-worthy. |
They were probably causing cancer and premature death....

Contact FXI in Media, PA. They have a foam innovation lab across the street from M. Night Shyamalan's studio.

Don't invest your life savings...even if you can perfectly reproduce their offering, you do not have the brand recognition, parallel portfolio or even basic market access to gain critical mass. Have you verified patent status?

^This. So, foam innovators tie up their innovation and manufacturing experts with incentives, non-competes, non-solicitations, and confidentiality agreements.
