My older brother was killed in a car crash on Nov. 1 1975 so the Fitz disaster goes with that difficult period of time for my family.

OT here but although it was many years ago I'm sure that whenever there is mention of the wreck of the EF or when you hear GL's classic song, your family reflects on that difficult time back in Nov 1975. Very similarly, my best buddy lost his younger brother in a private plane accident in Northern Alberta ...on the evening of September 10, 2001....about ten hours before the first plane hit the WTC in NY.:(

The concert last night was sad and encouraging at the same time. It is sad that he can't hit the notes on many of his best songs and left them out of the show, but Gordon is 78 years old and is still out there doing 2 hour shows. He's planning to do 70 shows this year. He sure has his share of die hard fans. The theater holds about 1000 people and it was full. People love him, and he got 4 or 5 standing ovations during the show. He connected with the audience and bantered back and forth, telling stories, and joking around. All in all it was a worthwhile experience, but I missed hearing him do many of my favorites. He did do his big commercial hits, and Edmund Fitzgerald was actually better than the recorded hit version.

Favorite of mine since I was very young. Great songwriter and storyteller through his music.
