How easy is it to make custom vinyl graphics for a car? Joe Bob?
There was a "pinstriping" sticker in the 80s that was used on 3 and 6 series BMWs, mostly in Europe.
I can't find it anywhere, at least for a 3 series. How easy would it be to reproduce it from pictures (its the black stripes on the red car)? Fortunately it's about as simple a design as possible. I could provide the length by measuring the car, and the width could be estimated fairly closely. I'd like to give it a try if it isn't insanely expensive. http://www.bmwe21.net/E21_editionM.jpg |

It is real easy. Just whip out your checkbook or credit card.
Find a supplier like Joe Bob or a local shop to you. The best part is it is easily reversible if you get tired of it or the next owner does not like it. |
Check with a local sign shop. They usually have everything needed to make custom vinyl graphics.

You need the software, the cutter and material. AND patience. It's an acquired skill to weed, mask and apply.

Yup any local sign and graphics shop.
Not that difficult to weed, mask and apply. I could do it by the time I was 10 or so. ;) |
And how many did ya screw up before being competent? Some colors are more of a PITA than black.
|
Well for a 10 year old I was pretty good, and just Messing around with my own stuff.
It's not hard though, just takes some patience and a steady hand. ;) |
You should be able to get the posted examples done for +-$250 by a competent shop. Supply and install.

I'm better priced than that.....
