But I have to admire the creativity and craftsmanship...

Me too on all counts! I used to buy The Rodder's Journal just to drool over some of those sleds! Maybe when I have had enough of imports, I'll dabble with one (an already completed car).

I loved the bit about widening the car to fit the Caddy bumpers...

If I was going to get a land yacht I would look more for a 40's-50's Cadillac, Packard, Hudson.

Tastefully lowered but definitely NOT a belly dragger... lowered my Miata one inch and had to creepy crawl over speed bumps, no fun.

Come on guys, somebody's got to post David Lindleys "Buy Me a Mercury". I would if I knew how, but I'm too stupid to get it right.

If I had the money, tell ya what I'd do.........

If I had money tell you what I'd do
I'd go downtown and buy a Mercury or two
I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury, I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
I'm gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road

The girl I love, I stole it from a friend
He got lucky stole her back again
Cuz' She knew he had a Mercury, she knew he had a Mercury
I'm gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road

Hey now mama you look so fine
Ridin' round in your Mercury 49
I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury, I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
I'm gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road

My baby went out she didn't stay long
She bought herself a Mercury, came a cruisin' home
I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury, I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
I'm gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road

If I had money tell you what I'd do
I'd go downtown and buy a Mercury or two
I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury, I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
I'm gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road

Steve Miller's version got quite a bit of air play back in the 70s. Saw David Lindley at Jazz Fest years ago...the version you posted doesn't do him justice...imo

Now post ZZ's "Nationwide"... Please. Someone might have missed my reference....

Not a great video but I'm too lazy to dig around YouTube to find a better one...
