where is Fontana.

so far the forests should be empty, no bugs, and no tourists. HP toll collecting should be light and early Nov weather can be real nice. Any outdoor forest hot springs around?

I'm a maybe.

You know I am in, I had to cancel plans to work at a Ferrari event here in Florida to do this.

This is indeed the perfect time to go, Ronin nailed it, no bugs, no leaves for tourists to look at which also provides a better look ahead on the road, it also removes that driving through a tunnel feeling that makes some people car sick, did I mention no tourists? We should have the place to ourselves. If the weather is cooler the bikers will not come out either.

How about a Pelican and a Ferdi bear riding on the back of a fire breathing dragon?

How about a 911 front end morphing into a dragons back and tail. Or the opposite dragon head with a 911 rear.

Considering I'm sitting 1/4 mile away from the southern end in Robbinsville having just run through there, I'd say it's worth the trip.

I'd recommend Dramamine for anyone with a weak stomach. And kids. Ask me how I know.

My 12 y/o son was a trooper when I ran it in my Porsche. About 1/2 way though on the way back he asked me to pull over. When we stopped he jumped out and walked around. He was green. I felt so bad.

As far as t-shirt logo's go I was thinking along the lines of a Pelican and Dragon interacting with each other.

Remember too, Pelican parts covers BMW, and Audi too. It would be nice to see as many P-cars as possible but I do not think anyone will have an issue with a BMW or Audi there. As long as its not a Black wagon.

Procon was asking me about potential activities or trips. I am not sure what people will want to do. Do we want to wander away from that area and see others. Procon, I am sure, can suggest some great scenic rides to some fun destinations.

I think we need something at least as good as this classic if a T-Shirt is done.

Maybe a dragon with a Pelican's head, or a Pelican fighting a dragon ala Sir George the Dragonslayer.

Once we arrived, and got the car cleaned up things turned better. Hit Joyce Kilmer trails today, headed for Highlands tomorrow.

We had to stop 4 times before we made it to Deals Gap.

Jim,

Mine are 5 & 2, and considering I was driving an Outback with a bikerack on the hitch, you can get a sense of how I was running. Grandmas were pushing me...

At least I got a chance to watch some of the rides go by. Only 1 996, Boxter & 914 while I was on the road. Looked like a Pontiac Solstice club was running though.

Thanks again for the suggestions guys...this country-side was well worth the minor hassles. It's beautiful down here.

I put this on my calendar. Weather should be perfect. Our local PCA is planning a trip to the dragon around this time as well. I may recommend we try for this weekend. I can't think of a bad road trip in that area. Should be fun.
