Neet to scroll down, and sad at the same time:

Some pretty ridiculous pricing.
Looks like they are throwing in the components for free.

..love the Lemond

Wish I had a bit of spare cash about. I would love to have one of his bikes. The Cannondale Jekyll would be good choice for me if it's not too big. I name all my bikes. That one would be the Fisher King.

The local bike shop must have loved it whenever he came walking in the door.

Hard to believe he's gone.

Any of the Pergorettis would make me very happy. The Ghisallo is a bargain right now. They're ridiculously light rare bikes...

The dude had a lot of bikes. Cool that the proceeds are going to a worthwhile charity. Hmmm, wonder what his frame size is?

I'd swear a lot of those bikes look like 54 cm. Just a guess. I'm a 54 so I've been drooling at a number of these- not just because they are great bikes, but because they were owned by such an inspiring individual. It will be interesting to see how the final bids ramp up next week.

He was about 5 foot 7 so a 54 would be close.

I still miss him.

What is interesting to me is how low the estimates are on the bikes if you click on them. Many are already near or above the high end original estimates. I would think his ownership would bring a premium, and yet these estimates seem so low. Parted out with no affiliation with the owner, these bikes would bring more on ebay. This is a situation where I really wish I had some extra moola to throw down on these bikes from a number of different levels. Great bikes, great owner, great cause. I would never part them in a million years though!

Also the 5foot 7inches makes sense. A some of the bikes look like 53 or 51's, which would fit him as well. Again- just guesses.

Very cool. Thanks for the links. I had the pleasure of sitting with him in Harrahs in South Lake Tahoe in the early 80's. (Mork and Mindy days) He hung out with me for a bit because I treated him as a normal human, not a celebrity. I think he appreciated that. Great man! I miss him too.

I once saw him while I was driving through Sea Cliff in San Francisco. I stopped at a stop sign at a T-intersection and he was standing right in front of me with a mountain bike and wearing his biking gear. It was next to his house. Anyway, I noticed him and smiled, and he waved at me with a big smile, like an old friend. Just a good guy. I guess the bike he was on must be up for auction.

he was riding a Litespeed while filming RV. he rode to the top of Mount Seymour, a reasonably difficult 10-12 km climb. the "rv balancing over the edge of the canyon" set.

I had a Pea-Picker when I was 12 in '73. Great memories. He had a house about 1/4 mile from us in Montecito. Talented guy with a BIG heart. Cool that the fam is honoring him in this way.
