Odd Situation

Just had an interesting experience. At the dance studio waiting to pick up my son. They are rehearsing a performance in the back studio. I was at one end of the hallway filling my bottle at the water cooler. A female dancer came out of the studio, into the other end of the hallway. She had her back to me and didn't see me. She must have had a costume change, because she suddenly stripped off her outfit and was, I think, about to be naked. I say I think, because I instinctively averted my eyes, turned around, and walked away. I was a little surprised by my action. It's not like I'm ever in this situation, so I had no idea how I'd react.

I'd most likely do the same. Nothing good can come from a situation like that.

Very grown up of you (hehehe).

I would have stared like a salivating idiot.

Me too Bill, probably.

Love those thin tight dancer type bodies.

You did good JYL !

Cheers Richard

Exactly! And you don't want to be denying anything to the media. lol

Probably would have just stared with my mouth agape until she looked at me, then turned away real quick like.

You can't be president now.

People are creatures of habit. I think you should go back next week to see a repeat performance. :)

No one has asked if she was 18 or older?

My daughter was in dance and they had a competition (travel) team of girls 14-18 years old. They invited the parents to watch the girls perform their award winning routine. The girls were dressed in workout clothes that didn't leave much to the imagination. In the room of 50 females I was one of 3 guys and I didn't know where to look anymore so ended up going to wait in the car.

My oldest has been involved in dance for 12 years now. Being one of the few parents with both an X and a Y chromosone, sitting and waiting for hours on end, has gotten me quite a few stares over the years. Almost as if I was unwelcome - until they needed a check written, help moving stuff, or computer support.

Fortunately there is a little Greek diner/bar combo next to the dance place, so I typically sit there and do homework, etc. Or when it gets dark late (up until about now, and March thru June) I drop off the kid and go down to the shooting range a couple of minutes drive away.

That is a bit of a dilemma, having your daughter in the troup does make it hard to be letching out in good conscience.

Yet another reason Im glad to have sons.

Cheers Richard

You find out where your moral standards lie when no one is watching and/or when you don't have time to rationalize.

Dancers (both men and women) have marvelous bodies, but your reaction was obviously the right one. Public performances provide all the opportunity anyone may want to admire dancers (and, having been to several ballets and also performances by the Hubbard Street dance theater, I do find them amazing).

If she was underage you are a stand up gent.

Otherwise you should have coughed loudly to announce your presence without averting your eyes.

i watched Megan Fox take her top off.
i didn't avert.
she looked pretty young. with corresponding ta ta's.
