Pontiac Solstice GXP

Please school me on this model, in terms of usual problem areas that they suffer from.

too high a price for a dead corprat car
too many with salvage titles at too high a price
there just are not many reasonably priced cars
as every owner thinks theirs is a collector car
both the Solstice and the sky have too many non-available parts

btw the opel version would be a better option for you in the UK

Well known auto racing school in my area uses the Solstice GXP for all their training courses. Can't be all bad.

The Kappa platform was never designed for right hand drive, so no, there never was a Vauxhall or Holden version.

Had a non turbo for little while. Fun little car. Interior was too plastic, and cheaply made for my taste. Has some common problems with the electronics that are annoying. They're also quite small cars.

Think of buell parts issue

I had one a few cars back and liked it well enough; it had the chip upgrade and the torque meant it had enough grunt to joust with much bigger, more expensive cars. My big gripes were the seats weren't comfortable for me and the trunk was miniscule. Yeah, the dash was plastic as hell but I didn't much mind it. And while I've owned a Boxster, 911, 944, 928, two Z4s, a Z3 coupe and a Rolls-Royce, no car garnered more interest from the fairer sex than the Solstice. I wouldn't mind owning one again, but I rank it behind the Z3 Coupe on my list of cars I'd want back.

My boss bought one over the summer he likes it says its slow. I havnt had to fix it yet so it cant be all bad. I see one at my local cruise-in with a LS swap looks like it was meant to be.

What is he, a jet pilot? It's a fairly light car with 340lb-ft of torque when chipped like mine - they're pretty spry. The standard cars were considered slow by some, but they were comparable to the Miata in performance (if not the refinement).

I remember sitting in one of these when they first debuted at an auto show. The interior was appalling and incredibly cramped.

I know the later targa versions could not stow their tops on board.
