Targa Florio
I ran across this recently... wild stuff... pure driving... much like rallying in many ways except for the vehicular traffic they had to put up with.

Ummm, in the first video they are driving around with normal traffic on the roads??
|
Yes, the roads were open during practice.

Hey, looks just like one of our Targa Californias!

What's the saying? "When sex was safe and racing was dangerous"!!!!
|
What's amazing is some of those cars had zero crash protection and in some cars the driver's feet were positioned ahead of the front axle.

If bored watching a Sunday NFL game, you could drive a sim of the Targa Florio. Tricky to acquire but all available by download. First need the GPL (Grand Prix Legends) sim. Then join one of the online sim groups and go from there.
Pretty cool especially with a good pedal and steering feedback wheel, manual shift gate AND viewed big screen. Very entertaining. |
