I take it you used home delivery?

yetibone 11-05-2016 05:09 AM

It might go as far as 800 miles before it's done with it's 40 mile trip.

Nickshu 11-05-2016 05:16 AM

Yes FedEx has done this for years. With Home Delivery/ground I could ship a package to my next door neighbor and it would take 4-6 days. UPS will ship faster for closer locations with their ground service, but often I find UPS is almost double the price of FedEx.

I think you've got a FedEx black hole where you are Flatbutt. Couple of years ago when I drew your name for the Pelican Christmas gift thing, I believe I shipped 2nd day and it took more than a week to get to you...

Flatbutt sent me a nice Pelican Christmas gift. It arrived in plenty of time and the flags are still on display in my office. Thax for your service to our country sir...

We send LTL shipments all the time. One kept swinging between Dallas and El paso. Something was mismarked on the shipment and as soon as it reached El Paso, they would ship it back to Dallas. It took 2 weeks to go from Houston to El Paso.

Out latest was shipment from Eastern Washington State to Denali Alaska. They shipped it to Chicago first. Took a week to get it back to Seattle.

I know for usps it's very easy to get missent items. Catches the wrong flight and what not. It'll play in the missent bins until it reaches the right post office. Usps uses FedEx planes so it can't be that much different.

I ordered something from MS on Monday. Shipped USPS. It was supposed to be delivered Thursday. Instead, its been sitting in CO since Wednesday.

The USPS black hole for Hawaii is the Albany, CA station.

I am in Jersey too and deal with this all the time. Sometimes a week to get a package less then an hour away in driving distance. DHL is even worse

KFC911 11-06-2016 01:38 AM

I suspect it's due to a hub-centric model....a package destined for across the street will likely go to Memphis first for distribution, but I dunno. Then you have a hiccup...

ckelly78z 11-06-2016 01:40 PM

For all you know, your package is keeping someone alive on a deserted island.....Castaway !

flatbutt 11-07-2016 03:25 AM

In case anyone is interested my package is now 75 miles away...in Pennsylvania. One does wonder.

legion 11-07-2016 04:27 AM

My package is in Champaign, IL. I still can't figure out why the hell it went to Colorado from Mississippi.

GH85Carrera 11-07-2016 05:44 AM

We had a package shipped from Baton Rouge, LA to our OKC office and billed to our Fed-X account. It was shipped for overnight delivery, to be here the next day before 10:30. The driver that knows us and our office zoned out and delivered it to a business 1/2 a mile away on a Friday afternoon before a three day weekend. When we called about or package they said it was delivered and signed for by T. Smith. It took a lot of phones calls and several supervisors to get them to admit they delivered it to the wrong address. They said they would get it to us early on Tuesday. At 2:00 PM we finally looked up the address they delivered it to and drove there to get it. They still wanted to charge us for the overnight delivery. That was another long phone call.

ckelly78z 11-07-2016 01:58 PM

My FedEx guy laughs every time he delivers an overnight envelope (about once a week) from the XYZ company that is located 200 yds down the street from our company. Most of the XYZ company's employees drive past our building on their way to, and from Work, and out to lunch to boot.

legion 11-07-2016 04:15 PM

I finally got my package.....4 days late and 3 days after I went out and bought what I needed anyway.
