Question Opel GT info

One of my roomates just bought a 72 Opel GT.

Does anyone know of any websites or message boards that relate to this car? Any maintanance tips or recommendations would be helpful too.

I had an orange 72 Opel GT during college. Fun car with good handling but not much power. I recall one weak link was the headlight system. They would either not turnover all the way and not activate or not turn over at all. I went in and rebuilt the mechanism and it worked fine. A drunk driver totaled it right after I had it repainted and a new short block installed. A fresh engine did wonders for that car.

Thumbs up

It's sad how common it is to have beloved vehicles die in untimely deaths right after a bunch of work is put into them.

The GT is alive and running.....kinda. I rode in only once so far. Seems like a fun little car. It's got some "electrical issues" right now. We've changed out the battery, alternator and regulator. There still seems to be a gremlin somewhere.

It already broke down on my roommate a mile away from home and I had to go pick him up. It fired right up a few hours later, though.

The car is in great condition. I love the mechanical flip around headlights. Crank the handle back and the lights flip around. No electronic motor. I don't understand how your lights didn't always flip around?
