Is the a cox remote and the tv remote, or just 1?
|
There should be instructions that came with the sound bar on syncing your TV remote. Double check or do a web search on the model.

The system is using just the Cox remote.
Is there a way to sync that remote to work with both the Cox box and the soundbar? edit/ Here's the remote and instructions. Looks like maybe there is. Although the instructions aren't that clear. How does it know what kind of soundbar I'm using?? |

Looks like the code for Samsung is 2660. Just follow the instructions on programming Cox remote for "audio accessory".

Yep

Based on the manual for the TV that you provided earlier, using the optical cable will require you to use the sound bar's remote and using the optical cable will only work when you are getting a 5.1 broadcast.
I would think that the only way that you'd be able to control the volume with the TV volume would be if you had some other sort of audio out whether it be RCA or headphone or maybe HDMI or wiselink. It doesn't look like you've got ANY outputs on that TV other than the Optical. Everything else in your photo looks like it's input. But, I would think that the Cox remote should be programmable for the sound bar which I think the other guys have mentioned. I think that Craigster looked at the manual and found the code for the remote for you. |

The cox remote will do it. Just like a directtv remote.

My 76 year old pops and I thank you!
Programming the Cox remote worked. The built in speakers on that Samsung TV were horrible. really unlistenable. Sounds great now tho! |
Awesome!
