Unboxing and stop motion Porsche Engine Model

Built during a rainy weekend, this could be the ultimate Christmas gift this year!

Yeah, that's really cool.

widgeon13 11-07-2016 04:09 AM

What does it cost?

jhynesrockmtn 11-07-2016 04:47 AM

I want one!

kach22i 11-07-2016 04:58 AM

I did not expect it to be operational at the end.

Once those batteries came out I knew what was going to happen.

I built an Invisible Mustang once.;)

Cool. I did a similar one in V8 variety with my son last Christmas. Never saw a Porsche/6cyl version out there. Cool!

I think it's the same brand that built the V8. Very nice, no batteries included (AA x 3), but screwdriver is, so nothing is needed for a basic built.

If you want to make it nicer, you'll need an x-acto knife or razor blade, and possibly a nail file to smooth the broken-off residues on the edges.

It takes about two hours, and if you know very little about engines (yes I know...), the building process actually makes you understand how it all works.... Very nice.....

How's the garage doing, Milou ? Anything interesting in there ?

I have built a V8 with one of my kids before. Was a fun project. It was a gift and I am sure a lot cheaper than this model. It is very educational for a kid as you can do it much faster and they can be hands on, than if you'd build a real engine.

That said, I don't get mode-building for grown ups - why do that if you can do the real thing? I know, not everyone can build a flat six for their Porsche, but even with less disposable income, I'd rather rebuild a real moped engine than a build model engine ...

Hi Everyone,

After the garage, decided to do a website for our Porsche friends. it will not be a commercial site, just sharing the passion. The site will be ready later this week:

L'Écurie Lyford Passion des voitures

Come and visit!

Ok besides the Amazon.de site, is there anywhere else we can get this?

Years ago I had a similar Mazda rotary. The gearshift on the tranny was the on-off switch.

Even on the plastic model, the apex seals didn't last long.

Very cool toy.

$50 for shipping. I'm going to have to ask if my daughter is interested in building it with me. I may not be able to justify $250 to the wife if it was just me, plus the time I will spend...

flat 6

didn't see any oil leaking on the table.....

maybe they also make a model showing '69 wiring?

Germans make great cars and great toys and great toys that are also cars. We had "Electronic Baukasten" (sP) or something like that, growing up ...a very cool electronics set... A German Company licensed it to Raytheon, one day my Dad (RIP ) brought it home from work. One can really change a kids life for the better, with toys like these. I would get that kit if I were rebuilding an engine. It might remove some of the mystery for a first timer..
