Strawberries?

I went to my GP today and we discussed my tests, everything was great, A1c perfect, everything but, always a but, I weigh too much. I have been cutting back on intake but he said more. The real problem is I am just short for my weight. At 6' I should be lighter.
Then he dropped this on me, he said don't eat Strawberries, people are getting Hepatitis from them, mostly the ones from Egypt but he said stay away for awhile until it's clear. dammit.
Anyone heard about this, I haven't seen anything in the news about it.

We get strawberries from Egypt?!

Why not just eat the ones we grow here in Camarillo and Oxnard?

If you're sort for your weight, maybe some elevator shoes would help.

Strawberries have the highest levels of pesticides/herbicides.
(So I've heard.)

They are very difficult to grow all natural and require precise picking, and handling.
(From my own backyard experience.)

I still like them occasionally in pies baked at 475-350deg for about an hour.

I just checked my freezer, Welch's antioxidant frozen berry mix uses strawberries from USA and or Mexico.

Thank you for the heads up.

I got three shots during that visit, a Flu shot, a Pneumonia shot and a catchall Whooping cough shot. By the time I went to bed they were hurting pretty good. I didn't sleep well last night. Could barely roll over. Glad I don't have to do that again for a while.

Dean,
You're in So-Cal. Most of your Strawberries come from, Watsonville! No Egyptian pickers here.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1478723655.jpg

Buy the Driscoll Farms strawberries. Also - if you want to know if they are picked correctly and not green housed, cut one open - if it has white on the inside it was hit with ethylene oxide to promote ripening. A strawberry should be pick to red on the inside with very little white.

I love strawboobies but the only time we get them is when the local stand down the street is open.

Caint beat em.

The ones that come out of our garden are 100% organic. So are the blackberries and rasberries...
