Rear seat delete thread

Test fitting the prototype. This is in my cabriolet and it has a roll bar and aftermarket speakers, so it has a few more hurdles over a Targa or a coupe.

Checkerplate on a vehicle requires you also run mud flaps.

What color truck nuts did you get?

Joe Bob 11-13-2016 03:00 PM

It was scrap, used to make a pattern. It will be dis-assembled and then traced on the finished product and then cut. I may keep it and just rattle can it flat black to match my interior. I plan on making them to order for others.

:D funniest thing I've read here in a long time...

Joe Bob 11-13-2016 03:55 PM

If it has to do with me, Sid, yer all laughs.

Snap a pic of the mud flaps mod next and you'll have my admiration

Shut up, Sid....that the last thing I seek.

So are you just going for a flat shelf? Why not just go with the RS style rear carpet?

I bought mine from Eric Linden, and it was really great quality. Maybe you want to just do it for the fun or to make one lighter, etc., but there are back seat deletes like his already made and ready to go. I'm assuming he still makes them.

Only if the have the silhouette of the backwards leaning well-endowed female form.

Haha! I was waiting for you to say Hi!

Been out and fixed some angles. Now covered with low pile black carpet and reinstalled. Does not stick out like a sore thumb. Blends with the black Recaro seats, tonneau cover and is a nice contrast with the grey RS carpeting from APPBIZ.

Flush locks are on order that will be keyed alike AND work with my roll away tool box (less keys on my fob). HF delivered for 12 bucks. Won't stop a determined thief but will slow them down.....

If anyone wants one made, let me know, I can send pics.

To answer a PM, weighs 7.5 lbs and my emergency tool kit, car cover, first aid kit, fire extinguisher and tire inflator now reside there. Also space for my GPS and dash cams when parked then I dash into the store while leaving the top down.

My frunk is now empty except for the spare and jack. ALL that former dead weight is now amidships and secure....approximately 32 pounds.
