Mecum auction in Anaslime this week

Mecum car auction at Anaheim convention center across from dismaland starts Thursday.

Never been to an auction like that, but sometimes ya just gotta say WTF.

$100 plus parking gets me in and a buyer's pass, guess I'll have to buy something besides beer.

As I've stated before, no different than a high- end strip club. If they could figure out how charge for the air you breathe - they would...........

My god that's expensive. I never looked into it but was always curious. I guess they are trying to limit the looky-loos. I guess I won't be going to a mecum auction anytime soon, pretty much the same reason I don't go to the main Monterey Car Week event.

The $100 is buyer-registration and gets admission all three days. Regular lookie-loo admission is $30 per day.

Hypothetical question: how do you get the glitter off?

Yeah, I've never been to one of these auctions and thought it would be cool, plus I gots money burning my pocket and need a new toy, so I said I'll do it!

But the more I hear and he more I learn 'bout it .........................

$100 just to bid, 10% buyer's commission, and according to the FAQ you cain't test drive em.
Maybe iffn you are lucky the mecum guys will start a car so you can hear it run.

So it's almost like you have to assume the clutch is gone or the tranny slips and the brakes are shot and bid accordingly .....

Used car salesmen on steroids.

Naw..more of a pissing contest with the bidding. Tall dogs trying to prove who can piss highest up the tree trunk.

There was a time that I could do pretty well in those contests.

But that was long before my prostate started acting up ......
