Well, it was a good run.

65 and breezy right now.

In the next 12 hours these parts are expecting a 40 degree drop in temp, winds gusting to 50 knots and rain.

Then it gets bad; rains turns to sleet then to snow followed by 24 hours of 30 knot wind from the northwest with 5 inches of lake effect snow and drifting.

Happened in Denver yesterday.

ltusler 11-18-2016 04:00 PM

We are getting a nasty thunderstorm right now. yay

masraum 11-18-2016 04:59 PM

The high yesterday was about 85° and the low was 68°.

The low in the morning is supposed to be 48° and the high is supposed to be 65°. Sun morning is supposed to get down to 43°. I'm pretty sure we're all going to die. This must be the end of the world.

:D

Temps finally broke here.

Thank god.

Mid November and still 90's.

Was so done.

wdfifteen 11-18-2016 09:01 PM

I am lying here in bed beat to hell. I took the day off and tried to jamb 3 days worth of garden work into one day. It was 70 and beautiful today. Rain/sleet and 35 tomorrow- time for beer, chili, and college football.

Don Ro 11-18-2016 09:03 PM

I grew up in No. Dakota...now in AZ...I'd never go back to any snow state.
.
After the military I went back to NDSU. Had my new '67 VW in the parking lot...living on campus at the time.
Had to have the clutch pushed down to start it, of course, in the cold. Let it idle for a bit...let the clutch out in neutral and it putted around the parking lot until the gear lube warmed up. 'Twas 60 below, with chill factor, that morning.

"...time for beer, chili, and college football."
~~~~~~
Now you're talkin'.
SCadaddle 11-18-2016 09:35 PM
Sunny and 82F today, gonna be sunny, windy and 56 tomorrow. I do love Mississippi in November.:D
wdfifteen 11-18-2016 10:59 PM
Coldest temperatures I've ever experienced was 29 below in Waterloo, Iowa I left a banana in the car and you could have driven nails with it. The snow was like flour.
I can tolerate cold temperatures better than heat and humidity. I saw 100+ in Tucson and 100+ in Houston. Completely different experiences. I thought I was going to die in Houston.
Yep, sunny, breezy, and 72 degrees yesterday here in Northern Ohio while a buddy and I were finishing my daughters new metal roof project yesterday. On the way to Outback last night for all you can eat shrimp, you could see a hell of a lightening storm off to the West......I commented to my wife, and pointed "right there is the start of Winter".
Supposed to have the first snow of the season tonight.
motion 11-19-2016 05:15 AM
We got around 16" in Red Lodge on Wednesday. Down to 8 degrees.
you run an ice bike? sweet!
Oh Haha 11-19-2016 05:18 AM
Hell of a storm last night. It was moving at 80MPH so it didn't last long but it was intense. We never lost power but there are many areas that are still out.
Was outside around 11:30 in shorts with the dog. Took him out this morning and it's a whole nother story!
kach22i 11-19-2016 05:31 AM
I was in the middle of painting my pickup truck outside when the rain hit.
I got the base paint repairs in and half the truck taped up for a Razzle Dazzle - Zentangle design, white on black.
I was prepared to paint the truck in the dark with a LED flashlight in my mouth. It works, I did the paint putty sanding, primer and finish coat on the bed that way late Friday.
Calling a friend today with a heated garage to finish up my rattle can paint job on Sunday.
Somehow I knew about possible sleet on Saturday but did not know about rain late Friday. I was worried about the forecast of high winds, but they didn't show up until after dark with the temperature drop.
Long underwear and double wool socks on today.
Winter is here to stay, being told it will be a nasty one.
You jerks sent this crap my way didn't you? Was in shorts this morning....called it a day when the winds stopped me from outside stuff....temps plunging :(
Arrrrrgh...
yetibone 11-20-2016 05:39 AM
Wife and I took the GS out for a ride, and to have some dinner yesterday, late afternoon. We saw white caps on Jordan lake due to the gusty winds, and while crossing the bridge on the Fearington rd. causeway, we got blown to the right of center pretty far. We got home before sundown, so it wasn't too cold, but certainly colder than when we left the house at 2:30...
This morning, I went down to the basement and made a fire in the woodstove. Temps outside are still in the high 30's, and will barely get out of the 40's by afternoon.
True though, it was a good run, and a few more days of moderate temps on the way, but I believe that by late December, or January, it'll be st00pid cold.
ckelly78z 11-20-2016 05:51 AM
Woke up to the first covering of snow this morning and 25 degrees (72 and t-shirt weather all day Friday).
sugarwood 11-20-2016 05:51 AM
It's about time!
I hate the mercurial nature of Fall.
Bring on Winter!
Seahawk 11-20-2016 06:24 AM
Front moved through yesterday afternoon.
Fall sunsets are the best. Taken as the front moved past:
Meh - I love the Humidity. I never want to experience the mid-winter dry finger skin cracking ever again. Of course, I can do this in San Diego as well...
red-beard 11-20-2016 06:31 AM
I say all of this and my heat is out for the two days. Stupid $10 120VAC to 24VAC transformer. Can't get one until tomorrow, unless I want to pay $750 for an emergency call from an HVAC contractor.
