Won't anyone think of the peaches???

Local news...Fl girl is suspended from school because she brought a kiddie butter knife to school to cut up her peach. So freakin' stupid....who ever did that needs to lose their job....no common sense whatsoever :(. Hope they don't have kids....snowflakes in the making....guaranteed...

The teachers union will ensure that absolutely nothing happens. Their #1 concern is indoctrinating kids to the liberal way of thinking - specifically that they're precious, delicate little snowflakes who need to be dependent on others (particularly "other people's money") to get them used to the idea that the notion of redistribution is acceptable and proper. Of course the teachers union itself depends on forced "wealth redistribution" to survive. Nope - no conflict of interest there!

Welcome to zero tolerance.

Someone attacks a kid and that kid fights back - something that we can all pretty much agree is a natural right - and BOTH will be suspended for fighting in school. Doesn't matter how many witnesses, etc.

If the policy is no knives at school and someone brings a knife, what do you do? The age of the kid has a lot to do with the proper response. Grade school - follow the rules because adults are smarter than you are. High school - use your head, don't bring a sharp knife, but a butter knife isn't going to hurt anyone.

My grandson got bullied at school a couple weeks ago. A kid pushed him into a steel post. He got a big goose egg on his temple. Reported it to the school nurse. A couple of days later the same kid started some crap and grandson decked him. The principle suspended him for 2 days. His dad - who is mostly a jerk and failure as a father - called the school board pres and raised hell. She called the principle, dad and principle had a talk. In the end the suspension stayed, but was not kept on his record. Bully kid is being watched and will get zero tolerance if there is another episode.

Should have brought a plastic knife, but at that point.... Does it even matter?

I tell them their policy is asinine and put my kids in another school, that's what I do.

"Zero tolerance" policies are enacted by stupid bureaucrats with zero intelligence, zero balls and zero willingness to do their damn jobs - take a position on things, make decisions and own the responsibility for those decisions. I'd they can't do those things (as evidenced by their "need" to have a zero tolerance policy to absolve them) then they should be fired. We don't need them and they're contributing nothing. Big potential savings of taxpayer dollars right there.

These zero tolerance policies are just stupid.

Can you imagine what someone with intent could do with a newly sharpened 7" long #2 Ticonderoga pencil? How is that NOT a weapon - or even a Bic pen! Let's overlook the obvious "weapon" that is fully allowed and go after the plastic butter knives and the 10" long keychain holding tweety bird on a zipper of a backpack.

Glad to know others have figured out the NEA...the teachers union.

"We have rules, but your little snowflake doesn't have to follow them if she doesn't want to."

And when they're adults we can't figure out why they feel entitled to do have any damn thing they want and do any damn thing they want.

My very quiet and shy, son got kicked off the school bus for defending himself. It got to the point that the bus driver wouldn't even stop in the morning unless he was standing at the 55 MPH county road. My wife confronted the driver, and there is still bad blood 10 years later.

This zero tolerance crap is a liberal's way of pussifying the schools to the point of inaction.....and probably responsible for many of the whiny Trump protesters these days.
