Big score on black friday....just luck.
Scored a 48 inch Vizio TV/monitor Friday evening as I finally gave in and went to the East Lake super Walmart as we needed some groceries. Good God I thought it will be a mess with old ladies kicking me to get to the yogurt and fighting for the tortillas......but the dammed place was nearly empty at 6:00PM and I even scored a parking place right in front!
So I go in and the lady who greets us old folks had all sorts of stuff sitting by her returns area. I noticed a 48 inch Vizio flat screen and it appeared the box was never opened so I asked what the deal was with it, something wrong, would play, cracked screen and she said no the guy had to return it as his wife went nuts as she wanted a BIGER set so now it was a "return". So I asked what is the price and she pulled out her little computer and said list was $378 and they had it on black Friday special for $325 but since it was now considered returned goods if I wanted it I could have it for $250! So I checked the box closely and it had never been opened and re-taped so I put it in the cart and went of to get the groceries. The usable size difference between my older 32 inch and this one is amazing and I can now grade papers, watch TV and surf the net with room to spare! |

Nice Score!
I'm waiting for our TV and my computer to die. I just can't justify spending the money on either since they both work perfectly.

Ours is dying. It's developed a couple of black, vertical bars that come & go down the top half of the screen. It's a 42 in. set, and I think we paid around $1K for it back in the day. It's amazing how good the pictures, how thin, and how cheap the new sets are. I hadn't paid much attention to them until yesterday when we were in the Santee Costco.

Last year right after the holiday buying was over, I purchased a Vizio 65inch UHD for $997
from Walmart, which I thought was a great deal at the time. Now I see that they have the same size UHD for $667! Prices drop every season...gotta love it! Good that you asked about it...nice buy!

The other day I bought a Samsung curved screen 65" 850D series at Costco.
Marked down from $1799 to $1,100...along with a $98 5 yr. warranty. The guys at Costco told me last month the date that they'd go on sale. I planned to buy the 950D series that "switches" quicker but the salesman said that I'd never be able to tell the difference..."bang for the buck", etc. He saved me $800. 23 sets of just one series of Samsungs on sale sold in one day at my Costco store. . Mine is still in the box here in the living room...to be opened today. Then I hope to patch it into my sound system. The only TV I've had is a small one in my bedroom and my g/f hates to watch it in there, although I use the timer on it to put me to sleep. ![]() . BTW, you DirecTV folks ought to check out Ch. 856 (New Age)...marvelous music...and great to drift off with...also good for "mood"...if you catch my drift.

I went to the Frys on Aero drive Friday and bought a 75 inch Samsung for 1200. While we were in line my 7 year old daughter asked " daddy what are those?" I had no idea Frys sold pornography. There was a display for adult dvd's. To be fair, the line never goes that far back into the store. I told the Manager my daughter pointed it out to me and it was readily visible to everyone. He said " It's America and that stuff sells."

yup - got 2 of the Philips 55" 4K HD for $298 each. Installed both today - the $20 RCA sound bar rounds it out.
