I F'd myself.
No, not what your're thinking. But yes, I have done that before multiple times also!
Since I retired at the end of October, I have been shopping for a for a car that was comfortable for driving on longer trips, yet still engaging, dependable, quiet with a fair amount of room and something my wife would also be OK with driving. I have only bought 2 new cars in my 60 years and they were both for my wife. I'm just fine with quality used cars. After looking and test driving Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Cadillac, we settled on a 2014 Lexus GS 350 F Sport. I also like the grill better on the older models, not soooo over the top. 28k on the speedo with plenty of options and the color combo I wanted--White over black. Got it for less than 1/2 of what the original sticker was and they paid for the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports all the way around and got 2/3's off on the extended 5 year bumper to bumper warranty when the Lexus coverage runs out. I think it was a very good deal all in all. Just did the 1400+ mile trip back to our Wa house from AZ and the car returned 28.9 mpg with a fairly heavy foot. 800 miles on day 1 and a bit over 600 on day 2 and my body felt like I was never in a car. The drivers seat has an amazing amount of adjustments. It's definitely a vehicle to consider if you are in this size car market. I'm really liking it. Now to delve into the 800+ page Owners manual. Cursory pic of the dirty car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1479759355.jpg |
It sounds like you might have the same motor in it as my 2011 Lexus RX350. What size motor do you have ? The 3.5 litre? I don't get as good mileage coz the RX is a lot heavier.
Anyway it looks like you got yourself a great car.....:) |
2006 GS430 here. 138K. I like it a bunch. The only issue I have an an anomalous leak from the front cam seal which drips on alternators, killing three of them in 40K miles. I'm going to get the leak fixed and keep if for a few more years and then hand off to my daughter. Mark Levinson sound system is fantastic.

Yes, it is the 3.5 liter. The cd is .27 so that definitely helps with the mpg.
It does have the Mark Levinson sound system and it does indeed sound great. Lateral g force above .90, very quick turn in, 2.2 turns lock to lock. It actually handles quite well for a rather large car. |
