Bose 901 Series VI and Onkyo TX-NR509 connections?

Anyone know how to connect the Bose 901 Series VI system with the equalizer to the Onkyo TX-NR509 amp?
Above is a pic of the available ports.

Reading this (if it applies to yours) http://products.bose.com/pdf/customer_service/owners/og_901.pdf
I'd say you hook it up to the Pre out on the right side of your picture.

I'm not an expert and I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn last night either.

I see the "out". I don't see what would pass for an "in". To me they sound fine without the equalizer anyway. I am just curious if it is possible.

Thank you.

I have 901 Series VI, however they are connected to a mid '70s top of the line Technics receiver....The connections are made as the above link instructs...

And you really need the Bose EQ in place for the speakers to sound approaching good...

Newer receivers apparently do not have the flexibility compared to the older ones..

Actually the VCR/DVR in out loop looks like it may work.. looks like the only place on that receiver where the audios stream can be modified

Make sure the impedance is correct between the two.

You need a receiver with the "tape monitor" feature. These are becoming harder to find and are usually not standard in modern receivers as they were in the past. The eq makes a big difference in sound quality.

You could get a separate power amp for the 901s. Line out to Bose EQ. Output from EQ to dedicated amp.

Did you mean to say the 'line out' (zone 2)?

I also have not slept in a Holiday Inn...

It's arguable that the Onkyo with Audyssey 2EQ and Dynamic EQ could do a (much) better job of tuning the speakers to the room than the Bose equalizer. Audyssey can control cross over frequency, level and timing of the speakers. Dynamic EQ will adjust these settings as the volume level changes. With my Onkyo once set up via Audyssey I'm able to make tweaks manually as well. -J

Yes. It has an internal equalizer that I am playing with. I am not much of an audiophile. The speakers sound fine to me without any equalizer. They sure put out some volume.

Thanks to all.

Where did you hook the Bose 901 to TX-NR509?

Was it to LINE OUT (white and red)?

Or was it to Pre OUT (brown and grey)?
