Beta testing new website.

Switching over to a more "e-commerce" friendly theme.
Still need to iron out a number of issues, including the payment / "cart" stuff, but the overall look and vibe are coming together.

When it's ready for prime time I'll get rid of the "temporary" in the address and it will replace my current site.

Constructive criticism welcome.

Thx!

Charles,

Nice work.

As for the Website, it look good and work well except under "Portfolio" there seem nothing under H.O. and L.R. and its does not flow well. Under "Shop" nothing seem to be available.

Keep on shaving...

Nice work!

Thanks!

I'm still finding bugs as I go. It's in wordpress and uses "woocommerce" so much of the interface is new to me. I've been driving the tech guy at the theme author crazy...

Looks very nice and love your work.

Sorry to hear about your shop dog's passing....

Looks good.

I'd lose the navigation top right.

It's redundant as you replicate it in the center secondary header and your theme hides the primary on scroll anyway.

And while "dived" is actually the original and correct verb it's more common and acceptable for use in the queens english.

"Dove" is the the more commonly accepted US english usage.

Charles,

Very classy looking site that compliments your craftsmanship.

I would suggest a see all tab, I hate having to click on different catergories to see everything- the back and forth seems like it is wasting my time.

Best,
Rutager

It's probably just me..
But I dislike a big beautiful splash screen image on the main page..which immediately starts switching themes and products using javascript..even before any chance to look at it..and to thoroughly examine and understand it.

And then I have no control over the object I was looking at before.
"Where is that first thing I really liked? I can't find it."

A lot of websites use this auto-switch-pictures technique on their main page fwiw.
I prefer a little mystique. But with the carrot link.

It isn't just you. I think the site is well done, there is some good advice above though. Great job.

Good responsive layout. Matches your product.

It's not obvious how I would add something to my cart. Works reasonably well on a tablet, but I would add many more photos to each item given this is a high end product.

Also, if I pay for something this high end, I want to hear how it was made... you know, like "hand carved from the finest oak using sharpened toothpicks for 16 weeks and then rubbed with the oil extracted from the nose hairs of a spring shrew....". Tell me about the art. :)

Many many thanks for the feedback. Still very embryonic - many more images and descriptions to follow. I've done some description of the process in the "about me" but I've got a bunch of shop videos that I'll edit and insert. That's a function that the theme is completely capable of - I just need to mount the learning curve. Shopping cart thing is still a mess but working on that too. One of the things that I'm having to deal with is most "shopping cart" type sites are more oriented to "in stock, or out of stock" type inventories. My business model, for the time being, is more "custom order" oriented, so I need to make that more clear and not a "turn off" for potential customers.
I tried milking a shrew once, but she slapped me so hard I lost my balance and accidentally dived into a raging river.... took me a month to get the feeling back in my toes...
More to come - Thanks again all - this really helps.

PM sent. Have a good one.

Getting closer. Once it's at it's final address I'll clean up the links internally. Still have a few more products to do photography editing on and then they'll be added. Should be sometime next week when it goes live and public.

It look pretty good (I had to go back and see what my comment were).

I guess you did not price (or its in 5 figures) the Storage Cabinet on Metal Stand yet, its the only one (beside the Forge Door Pulls) that has no price too it.
