What is the opposite of 'Type A' or OCD?

My dad was type A, workaholic, maybe a little OCD...
My wife is also a little type A OCD.

I... on the other hand... am the typical native SoCal laid back beach boy.

Frankly I feel a little left out... they have all these names for their dysfunction... like codependent etc.

You could say I'm just plain old lazy, but I do hold down a decent job... even work some overtime... and have a weekly 'honey-do' list I get through.

Anyone know of some cool psycho-babble terms for low key people?

Cool? I also suffer from notgivacrapitis. Maybe we could start a support group that no one would attend because we really don't need it?

You seem to be accomplished in acceptance. People with roots in dysfunction crave control.

Opposite of Type A is actually called Type B. That is the laid back, carefree type.

However the OCD thing is completely different. There are Introverts and Extraverts. Introverts tend to be OCD ie everything in it's proper place. Where Extraverts tend to organize things by what most call a mess. It is much more common for a Type A to be and Extravert than an Introvert though.

Catatonic or DOA ?

I'm thinking ''normal'' is a good term.

It sounds like the difference between you and me, is I have a my own list that I want to get done of things, other than the required chores. You, on the other hand, sound like you have no motivation to do anything but what your wife forces you to do?

Just semantics, surely there are things on 'your' list that you are better qualifies to do than your wife?

For instance I had to install a new pilot light on the front house floor heater... my wife and the neighbor kid wanted me to show them how to do the job... until I popped open the crawl space access and they looked up under the house and all those cobwebs.

Or we have 'her' car and 'my' car when in reality they are both 'our' cars.

I'm definitely a Type B then. As the OP mentioned, it must be the weather and the beach.

Where I work, we are screened thoroughly, and briefed on our psych profile. I am a Type A Introvert. This confuses most people. Especially about my resolve.

I've found in conversation that most people don't really know what introvert and extrovert mean, or at least have overly simplified understandings of the terms. Hell, some people here don't even know how to spell them but it doesn't stop them from using them.

This is undoubtedly what I consider myself .....type A introvert. I do my best work by myself, with nobody overseeing, or bothering me, and have a job, that for the most part, allows me this luxury.

I honestly don't know how cubicle dwellers, and service industry people deal with all the idiots and their quirks.
