Elissa Just Got Another Call For Transplant
 

This is call #2 for her CF related double lung transplant........1 week ago today we got our first call which was a dry run due to the left donor lung being damaged. The donor is brain dead and is a perfect match for Elissa. We have to be at the hospital at 6:00 am. It is kinda hard to be happy right now knowing what the other family is going through.

I can't imagine the roller coaster ride.

We will be praying for all involved.

understandable..
but the other family is being strong..
I've watched a harvest..
then we did the organ run..with 4 small jets waiting..
folks are very considerate, respectful of the donor..

Gary, In many cases the donor's family gets some sense of relief that the organs are helping another family. In a way, part of the donor lives on, right?
