If i were pressuring up tires to 120 psi I might use the same technique.

I have split rims on my deuce and a half. I only know of one tire shop that will even touch them

The local tire shop uses a ring shaped air tool on trouble tires. It looks old and hand made. Probably some old timer made it, but it works when all else fails.

They had one at a local gas station I worked at back in the 60's. Add air and the strap compresses the center of the tire making it seat easy. For tires that wouldn't seat all the way down we would bounce them on the ground to force the bead over. Had a sidewall blow out at 30 psi once. Sounded like a gunshot. :)
