Indeed. M3 had so many lead changes. Shame McFee went wide with a couple of corners to go. Amazing skill and race craft.

Dear George.
16 hrs · Dear George, I’m an hour away from the track, and I am coming like the wrath of God with my **** You face on. I spent exactly 47 minutes with Mathias, and was then put in a dark room and made to watch old black-and-white films of angry Germans marching and holding flags. I then spent another hour with Accounts, who have calculated your performance in Argentina (and I use the word more in a theatrical sense) cost Matthias 12,887 Euro per-metre-ridden. Matthias made it clear this was not a good return on his investment and showed me a claw hammer he inherited from his father who was working in Poland during the war. Matthis then made me catch a bus to the airport, sat me in the back of the plane where all the smelly poor people sit, and flew me to the USA via Iran, India and some ****hole in the Pacific where cannibals still live. It took me 76 hours to get to LA, George. And another 17 to get to Austin. But I’m here now. You better be here too. And you better be ready to race at the speed of a 1000 raped apes. If I see you wandering around Parc Firme in your red underpants threatening people with that curtain-rod you call a spear, I will have Enzo **** you up. You know Enzo? He’s the one with the tattooed hands who unloads the truck. The truck with the motorcycles you have crashed and we have repaired. Enzo doesn’t like you. He told me so himself. He said: “Gigi, I do not like George. He makes me sad when he breaks the motorcycles I love so much. I want to bury him in my family’s tomato garden in Sicily so we can have a good harvest in 2018.” I ****en hate Texas, but I like tomatoes, George. Regards, Gigi. ![]()

Some of my MotoAmerica pals are there and based on the golfcart wheelies this morning, seem to be having a good time.

Check the TV schedule on RoadracingWorld.com for the broadcast times (MotoAmerica, too) as the listings on my local cable provider for BeIn Sports aren't accurate. You might miss some coverage, if you are not careful...

I've always favored T15.
COTA sure has thrown these guys some difficulties with a cold FP2. I was surprised to hear how the track surface has deteriorated thru T18. I'd have thought such a rippled surface would be a safety issue.

Do we think that Rossi deserved that 0.3 sec penalty? In the end it made no difference and even Maverick shrugged it off but still it seemed more than deserved.

No, it's not like he had any choice in the matter. He did the smart thing and kept it on two wheels. In the end it had no effect but it's not a penalty I would have given him. I think Rossi did a good job in the race, but he still doesn't have the speed to beat Marquez in a straight fight. If he wins another title, it will be through consistency, not speed.
Yamaha has done a pretty good job with their bike this year as evidenced by the Tech III team. Honda is getting there though. I thought the race was fairly boring, I don't think anybody can beat Marquez there. |

Interesting views on the penalty. I don't think the penalty was out of line. I'm a 46 fan, and you can clearly see he did gain an advantage from the incident. I feel it was fair. There have been other penalties handed out in the past that didn't match the "crime" IMO, like Iannone in the last race where he moved slightly before everyone at the start, earning him a race loosing ride thru. That penalty was to harsh for the advantage he gained.
This was our first visit to COTA, and we had a really good time. We bought T15 seats for race day, but spent Friday and Saturday walking around the track experiencing the difference vantage points. We didn't however make it up to T1, but hit everywhere else. Another fav spot was T11.
