Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale...anybody been?

I might have a chance to spend a day at next month's B-J auction in Scottsdale and was wondering if spectators can browse thru the cars being offered, or are they accessible only to those with a bidder's credential?

How about the other auctions (RM Sotheby's, Gooding, etc.)...is it worth going to one of their preview days?

I went a couple years ago. Didn't spend much time in the actual auction but the surrounding tents w/ lines of cars, live music, food vendors, car memorabilia vendors, etc provided plenty of entertainment. I enjoyed it and would go to it again. The fanfare that you don't see on TV is much more interesting than the actual auction stage.

Yes you can browse all the cars w/o any bidding credential, just the entry ticket which is not cheap, IIRC it was like $60 just to get in the door.

It's not cheap and crowded on weekends, if you can go on a weekday, it's much easier to get around. Buy tickets on line to save time too.

It's cool for a day or two, lots of American iron

Thanks, good idea about buying the tickets online. I plan on going early to mid-week.

Went last year to the one in Florida. Tickets online were less than $20 ea. Parking was free.
Lots of cars to admire..a nice mix of all types. They run one through the auction every 3 minutes, I believe.

I'll probably be going on a Thursday, so it should be manageable. Thanks for the tip about getting tix online...they're cheaper than buying at the gate too.

My time is pretty much booked up while I'm in Phoenix, but thanks anyway for the offer to meet up.
