Ideas to see in China?

After doing a study abroad last year, our daughter has the travel bug.

This year she is in Guiyang China, Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, Thailand and maybe a few other places on a two week vacation.

If I find out any other locations, I'll update the post.

What's to see in each location?

About 5 hours by bus north of Guiyang is Chongqinq (a huge city, around 30 million), on the Yangtze River. The Panda Zoo is located here. We were there about 2 months ago, and all the Pandas were out in their spaces.

China is vast and amazing. Step one is to figure out what interests her. History, people, culture, geological wonders etc. and then choose places within a reasonable travel radius.

In Chongqing proper there are some interesting museums that tell the story of the American Flying Tigers. A cruise down river reveals a side of China past. Pandas are great, food was great there. We spent 3 weeks in China and just scratched the surface.
