914 Part Out?
I'm looking at parting out a rusty 914 1.7.
Car is cheap, good tranny, interior is all there, engine spins freely, I suspect I can get it running. Is it worth my time to part it out? The car is roughly $1,000. I could use some pocket money. |

How bad is the rust? Have you priced 914's lately - that might be a $4k car - seriously!

It's bad. I'm going to see it, but they are always worse than the pictures.

I'll have a '72 914 for sale soon. Just need to put the engine and tranny back in and replace a window regulator. PM your email and ill send some pictures for your friend.

Not a lot of parts money in that particular car.
The most valuable thing probably would be if it had perfect chrome bumpers and rubber bumper tops (highly unlikely). And even with that, it's iffy. Without it, no way. |

If it was a 2.0 with fuchs OK maybe... My 15yr/old was just given a restorable 1,7 by a world member ;) |
If it has rust in the suspension under the battery tray, under the rockers near the jack post, run away.
