Thanks. Maybe I should get one, just for fun. I once had an old phone with a similar cord.

Old iPod....I use an 80gb. Some little asshat stole one from my Honduh recently. I have another but still irks me.

I bet it runs into the radio. You could pick up a 4s for almost nothing and have a bunch of road tunes.

You don''t seem like someone who gets irked very easily, Z.... ;)

Which stereo unit does the car have?

I wonder if this is pulling music digitally over the iPod specific data connection or if it is pulling just analog audio - those older iPod connectors can do both, depending on how they are wired.

If it is wired simply as an 'aux' input on the stereo (i.e. the stereo just plays music but cannot skip tracks or display names) then you can get a cheap 3.5mm ti female iPod connector adapter to play any music into this from anything with a headphone jack.

But if it has actual digital iPod integration, it is looking for an old iPod to connect to.

CDR 24. That would be neat. I will look for a connector on line. Not a big deal but I have been wondering what it is for nearly 2 years.:D

It's not the standard 16-pin OBD2 connector.

scottmandue 12-20-2016 03:44 PM

Dongle... think that is the old 25 pin iPad/iPhone connector.
