Trash or Treasure?

Hi all,

This came out of my grandparents house and thus has some age. Was going to throw it in the dumpster but someone suggested it might be worth something. Anyone know anything about it?

If it's authentic it's worth hundreds. Closer detail pics would be helpful

What is the address of the dumpster and about what time will you be dumping it?

hand painted or transfer art ?
look for brush strokes or dots if a print/decal

I would find a place in the house for that.

I would find a place in my fireplace for that.

I'm sure someone would give $100 for it...

Very Victorian and worth some shekels.

I would think that most on this board have never been in a house where a screen was used. This particular one is old and unusual. It is certainly worth getting it appraised.
It can act as a room divider. I don't see them used anymore....

Target practice? The horror of it.

Very much depends on what those screens are. Prints? Paintings?

Either way, absolutely worth something. Take it to a big antique shop. If those are prints, you could get $50+. Paintings, much more.

Hmm,

Admittedly don't know a lot about those things so looking at it from a layman's POV.

It looks homemade.

Those things are typically ornate.

Not all are.

But there is a disconnect for me between the ornate art and the plain framing which from this pic looks like it may have been put together using molding.

Where do you live, I could come take it off your hands?

Would look good in a whorehouse. Tabs wants it? Coincidence?

I don't see any flashy dragonnnzzz on it - can't be worth much.

victorian dressing screen | eBay

Thanks everyone-

It is hand painted, very heavy. The painted surface is not fabric but some hard material. ? French ? 1930's ?

Think it's worth $782.59 USD. More if restored without ruining the patina.
