trying to find 80ies adventure film

Lord of the Rings kind of B movie
Where a hero over throws an evil overlord, quite generic. But very dark.

I remember watching it when i was a kid, around 30 years ago.

The key thing I remember was that at some point the hero was about to be turned into a goon working for the bad guy, with some kind of liquid they wanted to pour in his ear or something.

Anybody has an idea which one? Can't think of any name or famous actor in it.
tried browing this list in hopes of finding something that rings a bell.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fantasy_films_of_the_1980s
But no luck

No particular reason , probably not even a good movie, just one of those things

Sword and the Sorcerer?
It starred Lee Horsley, who played Matt Houston on TV, if you remember that.

Can your remember anything else? Mythical creatures? Other scenes? Were there sword fights? Was the bad guy a wizard?

They made a sequel, and a third one.

Yep, Beastmaster was the one.
And no, not a very good movie, despite the reasonable high production standards.
The Story is not to bad, but some of the individual scenes are just absolutely weird.

And obviously i was only about 8-9 years old when I saw that movie, 3 years later I would have remembered something completely different then that ear/liquid scene.. I would have remembered Tanya Roberts :

He's probably just married. That's the main demographic for The Shawshank Redemption and Braveheart. - married guys. They're all about freedom and escape.

Remember Brewster McCloud, where Bud Cort tries to fly inside the AstroDome?

For the bonus pop-up questions: Sally Kellerman drove what car with what license plate?
