I had along running feud with a major airline, with no satisfaction from "Customer Service". After flying 2 million miles on the undisclosed airline (fourth word on United States of ... - with a"n" added), I called Investor Relations. 24 hours later, the Regional Manager had given me her personal cell# "if I had any further issues".

I know how to get a senior boss involved if that were appropriate here. But they're offering to take it back or sell me a new, non-floor model for the original sales price. Not sure I want to make a federal case out of this and I really don't have the time to go shopping anywhere but online. I'll see what my folks want to do about this tomorrow, as they can go up to the store and deal with it. But I am pretty booked until Jan. 2.

So the dented one was the floor model?

Then their offer is fair.

Yes, floor model, but dent was undisclosed and not visible due to the decal.

I dunno, but I think Floor Model means As-Is?

Understood.

But floor models / displays always have consideration for additional price reduction.

It's not going to normally qualify for a replacement swap with a sealed unit.

Who would have ever imagined a falling cactus would make such a dent. And only one. I would have thought many more.

carambola 12-27-2016 07:04 PM

If that is the floor model, who the F struck it with a lance and then covered it up with an efficiency sticker?
They have horses in the store?
Smells like deception.

They can't just get you a new door? I'm calling BS. You can go online and find any appliance part that you need, with your brand and model #. I bought a new fridge door for a stainless unit, and it was less than $200. It took me 1/2 hr. to replace. If they were interested in making good, they'd cover a new door and someone to install it for you.
I have the price and vendor name in my office. I'll get it tomorrow.

rusnak 12-27-2016 07:13 PM

Naw, man. The part he needs is the board thing that went bad on the old fridge.

But where to find one? Preferably in a fridge that you don't need anymore. Because you TOOK IT BACK TO THE STORE AND GOT YOUR MONEY RETURNED. Hello?

Every manufacturer making an express warranty with respect to an electronic or appliance product described in subdivision (h), (i), (j), or (k) of Section 9801 of the Business and Professions Code, with a wholesale price to the retailer of one hundred dollars ($100) or more, shall make available to service and repair facilities sufficient service literature and functional parts to effect the repair of a product for at least seven years after the date a product model or type was manufactured, regardless of whether the seven-year period exceeds the warranty period for the product.

This is possibly the most pathetic forum thread I've ever read through...

What store was this?

Very fair. If it were mine, I'd still cover it with something, even if it was the US General logo from my tool box.

And this is the most pathetic post in it. Eventually things get real here, and usually some resolution is reached.
Everyone benefits from being on this forum. Isn't that why you joined ?

I think you need to get one of those giraffe magnets like in the tv commercials. They stick to stainless good.

Yah, really. We should stick to refrigerator restos or performance upgrades here.
