what is the worst holiday gift you witnessed this year?

okay..sorry. i KNOW Christmas is about family, friends..love..yada yada yada..

i get it. it isnt about the gifts. i KNOW! haha.

but one is so funny to me. my wife got it. my BIL fooled her. fooled his sister. he was asking about the type of surround sound we wanted..he even dropped off some speaker stands. so my wife shopped accordingly. she was flummoxed, so she came to me. EASY..we bought him a Ruger BuckMark .22 rifle. and a box of shells.

Christmas we met for Dim Sum near his house. to be fair, the commute was worth it. our DimSum is sucky, and expensive.

we exchange gifts. he opens his box of ammo and his face lit up!! he knew what it meant. gun time!!

he got my wife an adult coloring book. hahahha...worse..it is a nursing adult coloring book. my wife is a RN, but doenst associate completely with it. it doesnt define her. it is bouncing around the house, and i keep asking if i can recycle it. she gives me a curt NO! we dont even own crayons..or markers. hahah. i cant stop grinning about it.

(he got me a water purifying straw)

i give it one week and it will be recycled.

We have no idea what my minimalist brother and SIL want, or need, along with their 3 grown, married kids who also don't need much. We got them tins of popcorn......the funny thing is, they gave us tins of popcorn also, so i'm sitting here munching on carmel corn as I type this.

Interesting choice of words "bouncing around the house"

Along with some stuff she wanted, I got my wife one of those chains for her reading glasses. She is forever putting them down then going in search of them.
I suspect the only reason I'm alive is because she broke her arm two weeks before Christmas and needs my help.
Best

That would be her birthday present. I'd have even pay the postage to mail it.

I got my brother a few hundred rounds of 308. I took a few boxes and put them in the bottom of a Scotch bottle tube (you know, when you buy Scotch, it comes in a decorated cardboard tube?), then wrapped a bunch of bullets individually, like tootsie-rolls. So he opens this package and it's a bottle of Scotch (he doesn't drink). And his response is polite, but unimpressive. "Uh, thanks, Dan, that's really ... uh ... generous of you." I had to prod him to open the darn thing, which he finally did, and he realizes that it's individually wrapped bullets.

That was totally worth the effort of wrapping it up. Hehe.

Not Christmas, but my birthday is the 16th, so all my life people have been telling me that "this is for both".

This year, my GF told me to just buy whatever I wanted and she'd pay for it (up to $100, boo) and then the topper: she pulls something out of her purse, looks at me, and says "This honeybun has been in my purse for a couple of weeks, it's a bit smushed and probably stale, you want it?"

I fed it to the squirrels.

Her birthday was in October, so she got opal earrings. Next October will be a different story, and I have 10 months to let the honeybun ripen.

I got my GF a new water pump for her tractor and installed it for free.

But, because that didn't seem to be a very caring gift, I installed it twice!
