Ethernet switches- POE, 10/100 and gigabit?
I want to install some cameras for security. POE for ease of wiring.
First camera I bought to test is a RLC-410 5 MP, the maximum bitrate is 8192 kbps (8 M) So I believe I can use a 10/100 switch for power and data to connect 3-4 cameras easily? (8M x 4= 32M, well under 100) I also believe it is ok to mix 10/100 and gigabit switches without degrading the speed of the network? Or am I mistaken?

PoE cameras usually signal at 100MBit rate at most so they will be fine if connected to either Gbit or 100Mbit switch. But in the end, data from those cameras need to go to the system and if uplink is also 100Mbit and you have many cameras, it will be a limiting factor. Also, there are barely any PoE 100Mbit switches being made for last 10 years, unless you buy used.
TLDR: buy Gbit PoE switch.
