Good Riddance 2016!
I have been off from work since they day before Christmas.
I managed to lose my entire Christmas cash bonus while doing some last minute shopping with my daughter. I called every place I had purchased anything to see if maybe an honest person turned it in. No luck. Someone got a very nice Christmas present! I came down with the worst flu I can remember since I was a kid. Then I got to see it make my wife and daughter sick too. I guess it is better to be sick when you actually have the time off. Let us hope that today is the start of something better. 2017! I have high hopes for you.:) |
2016 started out with the passing of the brother closest to me in our family. It ended with the sister closest to me being diagnosed with bone marrow cancer.
I don't see 2017 holding a great deal of joi de vivre. Cherish those you love. None of us last forever. Best Les |
I suppose the people on the 2016 RIP list have it better than you do to?
|
Things looking up...may 2017 be good for us all.

That sinking feeling isn't as bad as the panic is when you first realize you lost something important. Short-lived but intense.
Hate it. |
We're all long overdue for some good news. I was laid off twice in the last 4 years, when you feel like you're at the bottom, there's only one way to go, up. Let's Go 2017!

Very sorry for you Dan....Sad story......I had the flu after Christmas and my mother passed, but only lost money at the local Titty Bar..........For 2017, if you have your health, you have Everything........
|
On a positive note, you live in beautiful (and warm) California. You are employed and your employer thought enough of you to give you a cash bonus. You are close enough to your family that you gave them all your flu.
OTOH. I have never received a Christmas bonus...and my children live in different states...and did not visit for Christmas. Get a flu shot next year. Better luck in 2017. Happy New Year! |
I have been looking at the positives. I am employed, I have a family that loves me, and as far as I can tell I am healthy. I lost my mom about a month ago too. As far as the money goes, it is only money. I hope it went to someone whom needed it more.
Not whining, just glad that 2016 is behind. I am looking forward to this year. Thanks for letting me vent. :) |
Twice I was told this holiday season that I will always be welcome, without reservation, into the homes of my sister and my son-in-law.
Some may say that kind of an open invitation by family should be automatic, if not assumed. Well maybe so. All I know is that these people made a special point of telling me this. |
