My daughter just got her official acceptance into the Naval Academy this afternoon. She has been working on her application process for about two years now. We were originally told we would know if she was in or not before Christmas. Nope. Today was the day. She also had a nice conversation with Zoe Lofgren's right hand person via telephone tonight.
Wow! Just Wow! I can't believe it. Yet I can. My wife and I are on cloud 9 right now.

Also wanted to thank Daepp and Seahawk for the long phone conversations about the academy processes.

Thanks guys. I am still vibrating from the news. From everything we have read. California, Texas, and Maryland "rarely" get LOA letters. She got one. Also, the competition for a place at the academy from these three states is very stiff. She has a 4.3 grade average and is also an athlete. (Volleyball) Emma has one of the best work ethics I have ever known.
Looks like we will be empty nesters come June. Yes. We put all of our eggs in one basket.
