WW II history buff and have Netflix ??: "DownFall"

"Downfall": About the last 10 days of the war in Hitler's bunker in Berlin and probably the best war movie I've ever seen. Casting, attention to detail (uniforms, weapons, locations) are incredible and I don't think it would be possible to make it more historically accurate. Filmed in Germany and Austria and is in German and subtitled. Nominated for best foreign language film in 2004. I highly recommend if you are interested in WWII or just good war movies.

Downfall is quite possibly the largest single contributor to internet MEMES ever. There must be a thousand different versions.

DAS BOOT..in German is another one for realism

Even though it was Super Star vehicle David Zanucks The Longest Day...is very good.

Tora, Tora Tora, Letters From Iwo Jima..and The Battle of Britain also were realistic.

If you wana go back A Walk In The Sun, The Story of GI Joe and Battle Ground were good.

For WW1...All Quiet On The Western Front.. The Blue Max while stylized was good for it's WW1 flying scenes.

Most great movies have that attention to detail.

This was great. I was very surprised to find out that the kid is a very young Christian Bale.

I Was Nineteen
Stalingrad (1993 german. Not the 2013 russian cgi junk. There was also a 1990 one.)
Die Brucke (aka The Bridge)
Army of Shadows

Totally awesome movie, I agree. I do think it helps that it is German (in terms of it being authentic with language, weapons and details - nothing like this would ever come out of Hollywood.).
