Sad to hear. I really enjoyed his book. I have a few Slovakian friends that he was a huge role model to.

Sad day. RIP

I just recently watched "Last Man on the Moon".

Recommend it; makes his passing even more poignant.

The hero's of my youth are slowly passing to the ages.

Godspeed, Mr. Cernan.
I'm grateful for your efforts.

On a side note, I finished Buzz Aldrin's book "No Dream Is Too High" just the other day. Good stuff.

Probably the coolest person I have very met. A true hero, committed to exploring new frontiers. Also, funny as hell! We miss you; God speed, Captain Cernan...

Sounds like an incredible guy. Anyone have any more on his helicopter crash where he was supposedly chasing a dolphin?

From NYTimes " and once crashed a helicopter in the Atlantic while chasing a dolphin."

Captain Cernan probably thought the dolphin was a alien survivor whose UFO crashed in the sea.

RIP, Captain Cernan. A great man.

Last Man on the Moon is on NETFLIX.

I was very lucky and met him in the mid 90's. His son in law was my boss and I just tagged along to his house for a couple of beers. To hear him bark about the geese and ducks spoiling his pool was hilarious.

He asked me to look at the points on his late 60's gold Corvette (similar to the ones the Mercury astronauts were given from NASA). I know he did that just to let me fiddle with THAT car.
