1). The local library has a book-media sale.
(But local book dealers are stacked up an hour before opening. A tough business these days.)

2). The local university also has a repository sale which offers just about everything for second-hand business.
Desks, lights, chairs, etc.


I once went to the final closing of a local multi-type store with my boss.
Hunted up the manager.
Got some shelves.
Cut them to fit. They became a shelving fixture on the wall for laundry.

For the full experience make sure to wheel it around and whack your guests elbows.
