John and Yoko
Yoko ruined the Beatles. Paul helped out.

Nothing ruined the Beatles. They were awesome. And still are.

Presuming your hypothesis is correct, the appropriate statement would be "John Lennon, (and perhaps the rest of the Beatles) allowed Yoko Ono to ruin the Beatles'.
They weren't children.

Their songs are timeless...Yoko might have kept them from re-uniting, but it was prob for the best.

Yoko kept John in the game, he would have self-destructed otherwise. I'm sure Yoko wanted what was best for John first (her in most cases), the band came a distant second.
I should clarify that in the documentary I saw a few years ago Yoko split with John so he could party and get his ya's ya's out. Would not allow him back unless it was under her rules. Not sure if this was before or after the breakup, but she wore the pants and had to have things her way. This is the structure in which John avoided self-destruction under. Paul had enough of being the only member trying to keep the band together and just stopped trying at some point. At least this is Paul's version. It's all history now, just spin some old vinyl now.

For me it was Paul, George, Ringo, then John.
John had a a very intelligent mind and tremendous talent, but always seemed like a pretentious jerk to me. YMMV

Mind you it wouldn't have been the Beatles without John, his attitude with Pauls soft side made for the perfect ying/yang writing combo, add in Georges guitar riffs and Ringos backwards drum playing and BOOM, history was made.

George, John, Ringo, Paul for me.
John certainly seemed to have a pretty keen mind. the recent Ringo interview, on the CBC? He is sharp as a pin, and rather humble. http://www.cbc.ca/news/thenational/ringo-starr-interview-with-peter-mansbridge-1.3251498 Last edited by creaturecat; 01-26-2017 at 02:26 PM.. Individually I think ringo is awful and has a terrible ear.
Lennon was a tool but had a good ear. George was meh. Paul was darn near the second coming of Pop music Jesus. Wings seemed to put the different sounds together that reminds me of middle and later Beatles music. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dare I say... I've never cared much for the Beatles. I never thought they were "bad" I just never understood the fuss.

They stopped touring long before John got with Yoko and they wouldn't have stayed together a day longer, had she never been with John. I can't stand her either, but she didn't torpedo that band.

yes John was definitely full of himself and had some other personality flaws. However, he was as brilliant an artist as any that have lived imho.
