I stopped into Japanese Classics in Richmond last year during a trip, they told me that the Skyline GTS-t is actually more bang for the buck than a GTR. You can find a pretty nice GTS-t for $10k, and still get plenty of power out of them with upgrades. Most are also RWD, which makes them lighter and more tossable.

I was wondering about that.

One of the appeals of the GTR is it is factory 8,000RPM with solid lifters.

The engine is part race car.

What would not get used if building to achieve the same high RPM rather than just horse power.

Things to research.

A little obsessed with this idea for some reason, maybe because I discovered the Japan. I will be in Richmond in a few weeks and plan on stopping by Japanese Clssics, we'll see what that does for my most recent wild hair.

I missed the Richmond reference the first time around!

I may go get this for the farm: https://www.japaneseclassics.com/vehicle/1991-honda-acty-2/

I was debating an R32 or 911... ended up buying a 911SC... I love it, but man do I want an R32... such an amazing car.

While I'm a huge fan of the GTR. I really love fast nimble hatchbacks and the smaller brother does it for me:

If only the GT-R looked as sexy as the pre-Z33 Zs.

Doug Demuro imported one and owned it for a year

Trust me, I’ve looked at both the Nissan Pulsar GTiR and the Mazda Familia GTX. I also like the Celica GT-Four. All can be had pretty cheaply.

Not gonna lie, part of me thinks I might have enjoyed the GT-R more than the 911SC. But I hope to have both in a few years.
