Why arr Pictures from Apple phone never are indexed correctly?
Seems simple but I cant figure how to fix it?
1. Tried taking photo with camera upside down... They are true to indexing when emailed to my PC. 2. Tried indexing them on their side intentionally on my PC as a test but they still never index correctly when posted? They look correct on my PC but when I post them on here they are not indexed correctly? Like these... What am I missing? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1486057950.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1486057964.jpg |
Fwiw they are indexing correctly on my phone when i checked this post.
But on my PC screen the photos in the post are on their side? Are these photos appearing sideways to you? |
They posted fine here Ted.
Do you have a lot to do between seasons to your car, before the next season comes around? I sure do enjoy your vintage racing stories and videos. Is there a west coast series of vintage races, . I'm planing a trip up the coast this summer and would love to put some vintage gatherings on my schedule. Cheers Richard |

viewing from Windows 10, Chrome Browser: They are sideways.
Cool Camaro. |
Yea, vied on a phone in Tap-a-talk they are fine. Viewed on a computer sideways.
It is crazy Apple can't get it right. I always shhot the photo open it in Photoshop and crop or rsize it to be correct. When Ohotoshop shows the thumbnail the image is correct, when it opend the image it is upside down. I rotate it and crop or re-size and all is well. Totally goofy system that Apple uses. |
Isn't all that stored in the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metadata?
If so, some editing software might help remove those notes controlling it. https://www.labnol.org/software/exif-data-editors/14210/ (Not sure if Apple has some locked proprietary format for .exif.) It would suck to have to manually run the software every time, but batch processing might at least fix archives. |

ah, the magic still works... |
Some devices are able to read the rotational data embedded in the image and auto compensate.
Some can't. |

Save them to your desk top, open, rotate 360 degrees, save again and upload. I just did this to yours like Scott did but no Black Magic involved :D:):D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1486076942.jpg |

+1 I rotate them 4 times -or edit them a tiny bit and resave and THEN upload and they do fine.
Pain in the butt but it also reminds me if I -really want people to see my pics or not. |
If you wanna see just how retarded apples pic management is try using the photos app on a Mac.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
its the same with my android. you can never tell which way they will come out.
my last phone did not do this |

Why in the heck would they design the interface program for your phone and computer to not let you even see the photos? And the photo management process is just plain stupidly bad. I have used computers since the early 1980s and I a have used good and bad software over the years. Nothing else even comes close to the level of pitiful as iTunes. It is the number one worst software ever. |
agree.

I've fixed it by rotating them clockwise and them back to the original orientation on my laptop before I post them on line. Happens to me when I post to my Tumber blog account.
