Buyer Scam
Buyer emails seller feigning interest in the vehicle.
Then at some point they ask for a history report. No matter what you give them they don't trust it. They instead want you to buy some report that you have undoubtably never heard of. And that the cost of the report they want is less than CarFax, which they also don't trust. They are just trying to get you to buy the report from whomever it is. My Response... As a buyer I have always paid for my own Carfax type reports. If you like a specific report I suggest you get that one. And if you would like a Pre-purchase inspection, PPI, would be happy to give you names of shops in the area, but you make the arrangements and pay for the inspection. Have gotten more than twice as many history report requests as the texts from buyers that want to pay full price using Paypal. Paypal offeres no protection for buyers or sellers for Vehicle purchases.

They are responses to ads on Craigslist, Ebay, etc. Usually from gmail accoiunts or actual phone number. Never from the same address or phone number once you are asked to buy the history report. Waste of time to block.
